It took me a while and some supporters to convince my friendly and euphoric co-founder Akshay Aggarwal to work towards launching this enlightening podcast series. On a regular basis, he is on a pursuit to understand more about the evolution of society and has formed some interesting ideas about the future. Hence, this in my eyes needed to get out there. So, here it comes, an audio piece around his belief “Society 3.0”, one where he explores a roadmap for the future of society with billionaire investor and bitcoinaire Tim Draper.

Tim is known for his sci-fi investments that help him realise his quest for the future of society. He exults extreme love for entrepreneurs and treats them as change agents or heroes that empower the world when faced with life-threatening and daunting challenges in menaces like that of the Covid19 virus. He founded Draper Associates and Draper University to back such amazing change agents while they were early at their hustle and were building companies such as Hotmail, Skype, Tesla, Twitch, Cruise, DocuSign and SpaceX. Some investments in the counterpart crypto space include Bitcoin, Tezos, Coinbase, Bancor and Ledger.

There are some amazing high points in the podcast because of Tim’s extraordinary ability to envision a potentially on point version of the future. It gets even more gripping because of Tim’s proven track record of investing in trends when they haven’t even got a niche following like his investment in Indian entrepreneur Sabeer Bhatia who invented email marketing with Hotmail which went viral and is a norm today.

Some of the points that this first-time podcaster scraped out from the wise and open-minded investor are:

  • Tim’s experience with investments, especially with the ones pertaining to Indian entrepreneurs.
  • He identifies industries ripe for disruption possibly creating trillion-dollar opportunities that entrepreneurs must not miss on.
  • Some of the people he follows and his recommendations on good habits to incorporate in an entrepreneur’s day to day life.
  • Tim makes the listeners doubt the relevance of borders and nationalities in the future.
  • He shares about Draper University becoming a global fellowship in no time and the role it is playing in making his vision about the future of society a reality.
  • He reflects and shares the motto that shall work for entrepreneurs in general: “As per the exact words of the Draper University pledge: “I will fail and fail again until I succeed”.
  • As a cherry on the top, he shares the perspective behind his controversial tweet about the Citizenship Amendment Act sharing it as seeming an unfair and biased behaviour towards a certain section of the society.

At many points during the discussion, he warmly reminisces his investments in Indian founders. Additionally, his fondness for an innovation-friendly culture is quite apparent when he lauds the Indian supreme court’s decision of setting aside RBI’s circular enforcing banking ban for companies dealing in cryptocurrencies.

P.s. Don’t forget to learn about his favorite Bollywood star!
