BEN Open Community Call: Recap
On June 28th, the BEN team hosted their first open community call on Twitter Spaces. Despite the early technical difficulties, the platform allowed us to directly interact with BEN students and other community members. During the call, we also revealed what we had been working on the past month, as well as our bold plans for the future.
What We Have Been Working On:
Over the last few months, we have been hard at work to accommodate the tremendous growth and interest in blockchain education.
In early June, we announced a facelift for the BEN website, a much-needed upgrade as we continue to rapidly scale towards completing our 10:10 vision. Our new website is easier to navigate and allows us to better communicate our goal to educate over 10 million people in Blockchain Technology over the next 10 years.
We have also expanded our Meta-Delegate program following the success of our BEN Uniswap Meta-Delegate. Over the past few months we have added the following programs:
Aave Meta-Delegate: In mid-June, we launched our Aave Meta-Delegate program. Delegate $AAVE to our Meta-Delegate program now by clicking here.
Compound Meta-Delegate: In early May, we launched our Compound Meta-Delegate program. Delegate $COMP to BEN’s Meta-Delegate program now by clicking here.
Gitcoin Meta-Steward: In mid-June, we also launched the BEN Gitcoin Meta-Steward. Delegate $GTC by clicking here or donate to BEN through Gitcoin Grants by clicking here.
BEN’s Meta-Delegate programs allow blockchain clubs to participate in governance while simultaneously helping BEN raise funds for our global operations.
Over the last few months, the Blockchain Education Network (BEN) has partnered with the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance to release the Blockchain Talent Survey and Report. The focus of this talent survey is to identify the specific skills the industry participants are looking for when hiring blockchain professionals and to create a subsequent report detailing the findings.
The survey opened on May 1st and the deadline has been extended to June 30th. The survey is being distributed through partner networks including EEA, Global Blockchain Business Council, Boston Blockchain Association, Chicago Blockchain Center, and Hyperledger.
Announcements:
In addition to the website redesign, we have been working on the BEN Portal, a single point of access for students to receive information about upcoming events, opportunities, and the home of the highly anticipated BEN Learn platform. In just under a week since launch, the BEN Portal has seen over 100 signups and the number is growing fast! The BEN Portal is free for students to join, so we hope to see many more students onboarded soon!
This announcement also includes the launch of the BEN Learn platform. The development of BEN Learn is our commitment to delivering scalable and easily accessible blockchain education at scale as part of our 10:10 plan.
Through the BEN Learn platform, students will be able to take expert-led courses on a myriad of blockchain and cryptocurrency topics. More details will soon follow in a formal BEN Learn Press Release.
Plans for the future:
In order to work towards our 10:10 plan, we hope to continue offering more blockchain education resources to our network of clubs, alumni, and current students. As the BEN Learn platform matures, we hope to develop and give students access to more blockchain education courses to encompass the wide variety of sectors in the rapidly evolving blockchain space.
We also plan to regularly host open community calls so make sure to join us for our next one; we look forward to seeing more students!
