Blockchain Lock is pleased to announce an integration of Polygon ID technology in KEYVOX’s physical locks. Today, Blockchain Lock announces that it has embedded the Polygon ID technology in the QR1 devices, allowing individuals to unlock doors with ZK proofs in the form of QR codes. . Blockchain Lock aims to empower individuals and organizations alike while ensuring their privacy and security are protected, hence the reason why they have chosen the ZK technology offered by Polygon ID vs. other solutions based on NFTs.

Unlocking your access privately and securely

We are proud to be one of the first companies building the bridge between the virtual and the physical worlds.. Using blockchain technology (associated with the virtual world) to unlock the access to buildings in the physical world, where locks and keys are necessary every single day.

The device, QR1, is designed to unlock doors with QR codes and works with any electric doors around the globe. Now it works with ZK proof technology with Polygon ID compatible wallets.

In a simplified use case, a holder of organization A’s credential can unlock Partner organization B’s office door, as long as the access is granted, without invading A’s privacy. Is there any use case which requires privacy? I can think of several use cases. I hope you came up with more.

Issuing and Verifying Polygon ID Credentials

After integrating the Polygon ID Issuer Node, the KEYVOX admin can issue credentials and set access control over them. Similarly, we have integrated the Polygon ID Wallet SDKs with our proprietary wallet called KEYVOX Go, and lastly, for the server-end functions, we have set up the necessary servers to also become a Verifier.

We decided to explore the solution with 2 use cases. In the first scenario, a user receives a membership credential with which the access to a building is granted. The user only needs to prove that he or she has the credential generating a ZK proof with the KYVOX Go wallet or any other Polygon ID compatible wallet.

In the second scenario, we aimed at issuing a credential to a door, such that whoever has the credential which is associated with the specific door, can access it. There are plenty of use cases you may think of.

So, how does it work? It’s simple. All you need is a smartphone with the KEYVOX Go wallet (or Polygon ID compatible wallet with a QR code scanner). When you arrive at a door that is equipped with our system, you scan the QR code that is displayed on the door. Then you will be asked to submit the proof which is required to access it. The app will use ZK proof to verify the credential and if you hold the appropriate credential, then the system will grant you the access to the space.

KEYVOX’s lock is integrating cutting-edge technology provided by Polygon ID and is the perfect example of how real use cases can benefit from blockchain technology. With its ZK proof and Polygon ID solution, KEYVOX will be able to provide safer access with privacy to assets around the world.

Ken Okamoto, CEO at Blockchain Lock said, “I firmly believe that this integration of Polygon ID into KEYVOX technology is one of the wisest decisions we have ever made. NFTs paved the way for utilizing tokens as keys, and now Polygon ID is paving the way for authentication with privacy. The future of blockchain technology looks brighter with Polygon ID and KEYVOX.”

As Silvia Aran said, the Technical Sales Lead at a polygon ID, “I am convinced that Blockchain Lock, with the integration of Polygon ID technology, is setting the precedent for a revolution in the world of identity access management with privacy, not only in the physical world, but also in the virtual world.”

About Blockchain Lock:

Blockchain Lock was established in 2018 in Tokyo, Japan. With a vision of providing safe access to assets to the world, the Blockchain Lock team is on a mission to “Unlock the World”. Our main product is a smart lock which works with web3 technology. We offer both IoT devices as well as cloud access control systems. The system communicates with the web3 network where NFT, DID and Verifiable Credentials can be keys to unlock this network.

About PolygonID:

Polygon ID is a set of identity infrastructure tools that give developers the power to build secure and trusted relationships between users and apps, following the principles of self-sovereign identity (SSI) and supported by privacy features. Polygon ID enables trust issuers to connect with trust verifiers via verifiable credentials and SDKs created for each member of the SSI ecosystem. Individuals receive and store verifiable credentials in a personal wallet, and use zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs to privately verify the statements made about them. This enables anyone to securely interact with both off-chain applications as well as smart contracts without necessarily revealing personal information.
