We are please to announce Seattle Blockchain Week on October 11–18th. This is a full week event presented in partnership of BlockchainNW, UW Blockchain Society & community partners.

There will be over 10+ events around the city covering various topics, and industries. Ranging from dApps, Protocols, Scalability projects, University Research, Enterprise, Security and more.

There will be one price ticket to access all the premier events, and also a week of community events.

Going beyond the hype.

Blockchain technology is here to stay despite the slowdown on the ICO fervor & crypto marketers. We will go beyond the hype to unite together those who are building & contributing to actual technology & implementation.

October 10th — Tezos Foundation Seattle Meetup *tentative*

Learn & mingle with other Tezos members within the Seattle community. There will be several Tezos delegates & contributors coming to speak.

October 11th — National Security Institute Meetup w/ Bittrex & Homeland Security

National Security Institute at George Mason University and with the support of the Hewlett Foundation and Boeing, we are hosting a networking happy hour in Seattle on October 11 for technologists, policymakers, and industry folks who are interested in cyber policy and national security.

Kiran Raj, Chief Strategy Office at Bittrex and former General Counsel at the Department of Homeland Security, will give remarks.

October 15th — Next-Gen Blockchain featuring: QuarkChain, ArcBlock @ Atlas Workbase — 5–9pm

We’ve invited two speakers to talk about demystifying DApps and the big challenges preventing mass adoption of blockchain.

Robert Mao, Founder and CEO of ArcBlock. ArcBlock is creating the world’s largest blockchain 3.0 ecosystem and empowering developers and companies with a comprehensive platform that gives them better building blocks for DApps.

Qi Zhou, Founder and CEO of QuarkChain. QuarkChain is using blockchain sharding technology to build a flexible and scalable infrastructure that could incorporate state-of-the-art blockchain innovations and satisfy needs from a variety of industries.

Oct 18th — Hyperledger Seattle: T-Mobile’s NEXT Directory & the Business of Identity

HSM welcomes Chris Spanton, Senior Architect — Blockchain, Cloud Center of Excellence at T-Mobile, and Vice President of the Global Blockchain Association, Seattle Chapter.

In this presentation, Chris will explore topics related to business interaction with the identity space through Hyperledger: from a brief study of the ecosystem in which current technologies are being developed, to Hyperledger Indy and self-sovereign identity, and ultimately T-Mobile’s work in the open source blockchain community with NEXT Directory, powered by Hyperledger Sawtooth.

Oct 18th — Designers in Blockchain: Decent
