An update on our AWS Marketplace offerings

AWS Marketplace

’Tis that time of year again, the last of the Thanksgiving leftovers has been tidied up, winter is upon us and tens of thousands of people have descended on Las Vegas to attend AWS Re:Invent.

Having launched Sextant at last year’s re:Invent, where BTP was one of AWS’s official launch partners for their Containers Marketplace, we are delighted to be back here for the second year running.

We haven’t rested on our laurels — Sextant is now 100% Kubernetes native as it is now packaged as a Kubernetes operator and we have expanded our AWS Marketplace portfolio.

We now offer two versions of Sextant in the AWS Marketplace — Sextant for Sawtooth and Sextant for DAML. In addition, both are featured in AWS’s new Blockchain Marketplace — a sure sign that AWS is taking blockchain seriously and sees it as an emerging business opportunity.

Sextant for Sawtooth on AWS

Since Sextant for Sawtooth is packaged as a Kubernetes operator it can land and expand on any Kubernetes cluster however if you subscribe to it via the AWS Marketplace we recommend that you install it on an Amazon EKS cluster and deploy and manage Sawtooth on Amazon EKS too.

Sextant for Sawtooth on AWS

Sextant for Sawtooth addresses the pressing need for enterprises to bring their blockchain-enabled applications to market by automating the operations, deployment and on-going management of blockchain networks.

Sextant for Sawtooth leverages Amazon EKS to deliver 1-click deployment of Hyperledger Sawtooth, an open source blockchain network that features a scalable, highly modular architecture, a pluggable consensus mechanism and top rate support for smart contract languages. Sextant for Sawtooth features a Hyperledger Sawtooth distribution built, tested, maintained and hosted by BTP.

Sextant for DAML on AWS

Since Sextant for DAML is packaged as a Kubernetes operator it can land and expand on any Kubernetes cluster however if you subscribe to it via the AWS Marketplace we recommend that you install it on an Amazon EKS cluster and deploy and manage DAML on Sawtooth on Amazon EKS too.

Sextant for DAML on AWS

Sextant for DAML unlocks the value of smart contracts for business. It accelerates innovation by providing enterprises with a platform that they can build upon; ensuring that they focus on smart contracts development, rather than the underlying infrastructure.

As the diagram above illustrates, Sextant for DAML leverages Amazon EKS to deliver one-click deployment of DAML, the leading smart contract language for business, created and open sourced by Digital Asset, on Hyperledger Sawtooth, Amazon Quantum Ledger Database (QLDB) and Amazon Aurora.

DAML abstracts away the complexity of multi-party business processes on distributed ledgers. DAML is intuitive and focuses on business logic allowing developers to focus on the essential business value of an application and get to market first.
