BlockCities Transit Kiosk 🎉

Today only, July 2, the “Mystery Machine” is becoming the BlockCities Transit Kiosk. Visit the kiosk to score Limited Edition transit-themed buildings inspired by transit systems in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and San Francisco. 50% of the proceeds will help fund transit advocacy!

You’ll find New York-inspired “BTA” branded signs and stations, Chicago-inspired “BTA” signage, and the BlockCities Rapid Transit inspired by San Francisco’s own system. There are also a few Atlanta-inspired gems in the collection.

Tiny Cities to Fund “Real” Cities

We’re releasing the Transit Collection to promote transit ridership in your BlockCity and “real” cities across the world. By riding, voting for, and promoting transit, we create a system for all kinds of people to get around the city in a safe and inexpensive way.

BlockCities is about delivering real-world cities in a playable format. All the buildings, signage, and gameplay (coming soon) are inspired by the world’s great cities — starting with the likes of NYC, SF, CHI, and ATL.

But while we’re playing, building, and having fun, why don’t we shape the physical world as well?

Since starting BlockCities, I’ve wanted to use the creation of tiny digital cities to help support real-world cities. To do that, we’re donating 50% of construction proceeds to a local transit advocacy group to help fund transit efforts in the city!

BlockCities will escrow the split funds, determine a good transit partner and donate to support their efforts. We will post updates on partnerships and donations.

Here are all the details for the drop:

• Transit Kiosk is live for 24 hours, from 10a EST to 10a EST
• Kiosk opens today, July 2
• Every building from the Kiosk will be transit-themed
• Some transit rooftops and ground floors will make it into Series 2, others will not!
• Some rooftops and ground floors are more rare than others
• There is one special-designed Transit Station part of the collection

The Transit Collection is the last ERA 0 collection. Once the Kiosk closes tomorrow, ERA 0 will end and the Machine will close until ERA 1 begins in mid-July.
