How it all began…
Fabian Aschauer started nursing studies at the Kepler University Hospital in Linz in 2013, after finishing school at the higher technical school in Leonding. There he quickly noticed the high work and time pressure to which the staff is exposed — and how this pressure affected the quality of care of the patients, the well-being of the staff, and the communication among each other.

Aschauer met Prim. Prof. Dr. Matthias Bolz, who had long been familiar with these problems as a board member at a University Hospital and founding professor of a medical faculty focusing on health care research.
Together they considered how weak points and gaps in today’s health care could be closed in a time-efficient — yet effective — manner. The “BlockHealth” basic idea was created. Shortly thereafter, Dipl.-Ing Dr. Michael Ring, added his expert knowledge in the area of quality management and regulatory affairs for medical devices to the team.
Meanwhile the team consists of thirteen determined and innovative minds, who want to contribute together — through BlockHealth — not only to relieve the health system, but also to motivate people worldwide to deal with their own health, self and body awareness in a sustainable and responsible way.
