OYO acquires data science firm Dynamica to execute dynamic pricing — BlockInspect

Indian hospitality firm Oyo recently announced that it has acquired Copenhagen-based data science company Danamica to utilize pricing as a key differentiator for real estate owners and customers. Off late, Oyo has invested a lot in technology products, processes, and people, as a part of its commitment to its global vacation rentals business. Oyo claimed that, this acquisition is also a part of this strategy.

With the new acquisition, Oyo will now be able to execute dynamic pricing across all its brands, namely OYO Home, Belvilla, and DanCenter.

Maninder Gulati, OYO Vacation and Urban Homes Global Head and OYO Hotels & Homes Chief Strategy Officer, commented that, “The acquisition of Danamica will help us be more accurate with pricing, leading to higher efficiencies and yield for our real estate owners and value for money for our millions of global guests, both everyday travellers and city dwellers, that choose an OYO Vacation Homes as their abode,”

“Like OYO, we recognize the untapped potential in the vacation rental industry that can be fulfilled with a data-driven approach,” said Danamica Founders Mads Westberg and Rune Larsen.

Oyo has not revealed any financial details about the deal.
