Hello everybody and welcome to the latest Blocknet newsletter! This newsletter is released twice per month to keep the community up-to-date on what is happening with Blocknet. You can view all previous newsletters here.

  • Migration to the new BTC v18 base chain is almost complete, you can see progress here. The current plan is to release 3.14.1 (legacy chain) next week, followed by 4.0.0 (new chain) at the end of the month pending successful testing. As the private testing is nearing completion, we would like to open public testing and invite members of the community to help.
  • A new roadmap format is currently under development. We’re moving away from the current roadmap design for a few reasons including feedback that it’s too difficult to follow, it doesn’t offer much context into past accomplishment or future goals, it’s not great for SEO since it’s an image, and it takes more effort to keep it updated. The new roadmap will offer an easy to follow layout and feature all completed milestones, many more upcoming items, and in-progress items. It will also be text-based so it will be more efficient, easier to keep updated, and will be better for SEO.
  • Block DX version 1.5.0 has been released and includes the ability to clear cancelled orders from Inactive Orders with a “Clear Inactive” button, an Active/Inactive Orders tooltip with details on each order status, BTC pricing enabled by default for new users to make pricing more intuitive from the start, and a bug fix for an error when automatically downloading new configuration files due to a change in file types. Download here.
  • XBridge (and Block DX) now supports six more assets: Badcoin (BAD), BitBay (BAY), Chaincoin (CHC), Denarius (D), FantasyGold (FGC), Hatch (HATCH), NativeCoin (N8V), and OPCoinX (OPCX). The supported wallets have also been updated for many assets. You can see those changes on Github here, here, and here.
  • A new summary article about Blocknet has been commissioned for a well-known tech site and is in the final stages of editing. It is expected to be published in the next 3–7 days.
  • The Blocknet crew continues to shout about Blocknet from the social media rooftops! Be sure to follow the various Blocknet associated Twitter accounts so you can retweet, like, and share: Blocknet, Block DX, XCloud, XRouter. If you want to help this effort and spread the word about Blocknet then you can find out about the Blocknet Crew by speaking to @TheVoice in our Discord and find out what the expectations of being a member are. • @lucien is making updates to the XRouter Service Explorer to improve the UI /UX. Some completed features include pagination and filtering on the Service Node list page, an upgraded autocomplete module used when searching services, and an update to a top-fixed navigation. Upcoming changes are some backend bug fixes, making a Docker container for the app, creating a home page with some overview XRouter stats, and then making the app hosted so it’s accessible in the browser rather than self-hosting.
  • For Superblock 1166400 there was a total of 427 Service Nodes, requiring a net of at least 43 votes for a proposal to pass. The results are as follows:
  • michael-dev-nov — Passed: 13000 BLOCK 116–1, Net 115
  • buildserver-cost-nov — Passed: 620 BLOCK 116–1, Net 115
  • proj-costs-1166400 — Passed: 1360 BLOCK 115–1, Net 114
  • infinity7592-nov19 — Passed: 385 BLOCK 114–1, Net 113
  • blockdx-dev-nov-1 — Passed: 2500 BLOCK 111–1, Net 110
  • hanniabu-1166400 — Passed: 4000 BLOCK 107–1, Net 106
  • fazer-dxmbot-001 — Passed: 1000 BLOCK 104–1, Net 103
  • ops-team-1166400 — Passed: 16020 BLOCK 110–8, Net 102
  • hardware-1166400 — Passed: 1075 BLOCK 104–14, Net 90
  • blockdx-dev-nov-2 — Passed: 2500 BLOCK 96–12, Net 84
  • TheVoice-1166400 — Passed: 1600 BLOCK 98–24, Net 74
  • BlockchainCoferences — Passed: 743 BLOCK 127–57, Net 70
  • corgi-oct — Passed: 972 BLOCK 66–21, Net 45
  • bizdev-1166400 — Failed: 2500 BLOCK 63–38, Net 25
  • Although proposals 11–14 passed by votes, they failed due to priority and the value of passed proposals exceeding the maximum value of the Superblock. This is a good sign of growth for the project as there are more proposals being submitted and Service Nodes exercise their vote on what proposals they believe should be funded. Decentralization in action!
  • The in-progress (and previous) proposals can be viewed on block-node.info, on blockdx.co or within the Proposals screen of the wallet.
  • Please note, proposals are being submitted to the forum individually so please make sure you scroll down and take your time to look over each proposal.
  • A guide to submitting and voting on proposals can be found here.
  • For Service Node notifications such as critical updates or voting reminders, join this mailing list. (Separate to the Word on the BLOCK newsletter email list).
  • Blocknet Service Node stats can be viewed on Master Nodes Pro, on Masternodes Directory, and on Block Core.
  • A new listing for BLOCK on a new Asian exchange is in the works. We will hopefully have more details soon, so stay tuned.
  • The Blocknet Protocol currently supports 125 blockchains all of which can be traded on Block DX. A full list of supported assets can be found on the Blocknet’s Hub. You can also view the current prices, ranking and market cap of these assets (including BLOCK) on the Coin Hub page.
  • Besides Block DX, BLOCK is also listed on the following exchanges: Digifinex / Bittrex Global / CryptoBridge / UPbit / Altilly / View all exchanges
  • BLOCK will also be added to the Beaxy exchange soon. Read more here.
  • CoinExchange is also closing. Be sure to withdraw your funds before December 1st

Many thanks for reading. We hope that you are as excited as us with what the future holds for Blocknet. A decentralization project fundamentally requires an engaged community, and so if you would like to help with anything, have something to add, use your professional skills or have a problem, we want to know about it.

Please also be aware that a community project is run by a diverse group of people with varying time-constraints (in a number of time-zones) and personal lives, so remember to be kind and patient!

If you want to be the first see these updates, you can receive the newsletters directly to your email by subscribing here. Our next update is due on November 30th. Until then we look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

The Blocknet Team.
