Word on the BLOCK: 30th December

Hello everybody and welcome to the latest Blocknet newsletter! This newsletter is released twice per month to keep the community up-to-date on what is happening with Blocknet. You can view all previous newsletters here.

• Many XBridge improvements have been made for the upcoming 3.11.1 wallet release. These latest efforts being made are to improve the trade success rates, support for high frequency trading and bots, and security. Below are a list of items that will be included:
• Check for if a node is connected before XBridge packet relay;
• Improved Service Node order relay. Servicenodes will now relay orders as they arrive from the network. They will no longer submit their order book on a timer.
• Fix for incorrect order state for canceled orders on Service Nodes.
• Improved wallet connection checks. Wallet checks now happen every 30 seconds (previously 15 seconds). An unresponsive wallet will now be designated as a bad wallet and will incur a 5 minute timeout, at which point the bad wallet will be checked again.
• dxLoadXBridgeConf now indicates whether it succeeded or not. It will return an error if an existing wallet check or Blocknet shutdown is in progress. dxLoadXBridgeConf also results in force checking any wallets designated as bad wallets. This is helpful if a wallet was fixed manually, and the user would like to force a wallet check in order to bring it online sooner.
• Improve locktime verification checks.
• Changed xdata log to feetx
• Fix for load XBridge conf log
• On Christmas Eve, trading on Block DX volume reached $5000. We have seen a substantial increase in daily trading in the last couple weeks of December, with a number of days reaching over 250 trades and a total of over $28,000 traded so far.
• Block DX has been updated to include the latest version of Electron Builder and Electron Updater, as well as certification for the in-app updating feature. These updates are currently in QA.

• BLOCK1000 has begun! This community bounty initiative is designed to help grow our community of Blocknet supporters. Receive BLOCK rewards for sharing and promoting Blocknet through social media posts and interactions! Read all the details in this blog post and join the BLOCK1000 Discord channel. It’s time to grow our community!
• Coin announcements will resume with the next wallet release which contains important updates that increase trading reliability for new traders.
• Block DX trading and set up Videos will be produced soon in conjunction with the publication of various articles covering Block DX, XRouter, and more.

• Blocknet is officially supporting the Proof of Keys event on January 3rd. We are excited to promote and participate in this global event to raise awareness of the importance for cryptocurrency holders to own and maintain their own private keys. We are proud to offer multiple solutions that empower individuals to maintain control over their own tokens and not have to relinquish that control to centralized companies, whether that’s centralized exchanges (CEXs) or centralized wallet servers. Blocknet’s Block DX offers fully trustless, decentralized trading where users maintain control of their token right within their own core wallets. In addition, CloudChains, Inc. is currently implementing a fully decentralized lite (thin) multi-wallet utilizing Blocknet’s XRouter protocol. Please join us and read more here!
• We’re building out a new documentation portal, which will also include some tools. The goal of this portal is to lower the barrier for:
• Learning what Blocknet is, it’s goals, it’s vision, and what the future holds
• Learning how Blocknet is different from other blockchains
• Learning the tokenomics and incentives to owning BLOCK
• Learning how to get setup to use the protocol as a developer
• Learning how to get setup to use Blocknet-related software as a user
• Staying informed on the project, vision, and progress
• Generating configuration files for use with Service Nodes and Trader Nodes
• Creating configuration files for integration and testing by our team and other projects
• Staying informed of new configuration file updates
• The first release is planned for next week and will be followed by progressive updates with additional documentation, tutorials (text and video), and tools.

• The latest episode of the Internet of Blockchains podcast has been released. In episode 3, host and Blocknet community member, Scott Wehman speaks to Ray Dogum of the Health Unchained podcast on the topic of blockchains and healthcare. Listen here.
• BlockDX.co has implemented a number of new updates over the past few weeks, including a new feature where verified service node owners can post anonymous comments/feedback on current funding proposals. Check it out here.

• The proposals for Superblock 734400 can now be viewed here. Voting will close on block 731520, but your node must remain active until block 731520 for your vote to count.
• The in-progress (and previous) proposals can be viewed on block-node.info or within the Proposals screen of the wallet. The in-progress proposals can also be viewed on blockdx.co.
• Please note, proposals are being submitted to the forum individually so please make sure you scroll down and take your time to look over each proposal.
• An introduction to Superblocks and a guide to submitting and voting for proposals, can be found here. There is also a proposal category in the Blocknet Discord for focused and specific discussion of proposals and ideas. Within this category, there is a channel called #anon-snode-feedback for Service Node owners to provide anonymous feedback on proposals.
• For Service Node notifications such as critical updates or voting reminders, join this mailing list. (Separate to the Word on the BLOCK newsletter email list).
• Blocknet Service Node stats can be viewed on Master Nodes Pro, on Masternodes Directory, and on Block Core.

• The Blocknet Protocol currently supports 93 blockchains, all of which can be traded on Block DX. A full list of the supported blockchains can be found on the Blocknet’s Coin Hub. You can also view the current prices, ranking and market cap of of these assets (including BLOCK) on the same page.
• In addition to this list, there are another 27 blockchains that are unannounced.
• 138 blockchains are in progress for error resolution + finalization.
• Besides Block DX, BLOCK is also listed on the following exchanges: Bittrex / CryptoBridge / UPbit / CoinSwitch / Cryptopia / Nova
