Blockport Community Update: June
In this article, a brief overview is provided regarding last week’s developments at Blockport. Additionally, we also give you a short planning for the upcoming week.
What happened this week?
Another week of momentum and growth has flown by at Blockport HQ. First off, our executive team is happy to announce the onboarding of Chris Alders as Blockport’s new Corporate PR & Brand Manager. With an extensive background in PR, communications, strategic marketing and brand management, Chris brings in a lot of experience which will drive the engagement and quality of our brand and community to a next level.
In line with that, we have also seen the first Reddit AMA (ask me anything) session in our upcoming series of Blockport team session AMAs. Conducted on a bi-weekly basis, the Blockport AMAs will enable our community to engage with two Blockport team members at a time. This week, Jasper Jansz (Lead UX & Design at Blockport) and Jasper Blokland (Product Owner at Blockport) answered community questions about the Blockport Beta platform. Find out more here.

Moreover, we have had an enormously productive week for Blockport’s development team. For starters, the Bank Transfer feature has now been added to the Beta platform. This means that all users within the EEA (European Economic Area) are now able to deposit Euros via a SEPA wire-transfer process.
Furthermore, we improved our platform’s security, tech support tool, registration process and overall onboarding flow. This means that we are on track to remove the VPN and open up the Beta to our community before the end of this month. The exact date will be announced next week.
On that note, our product team has also been working hard on the UX front, where improvements have been made regarding to our on-boarding and registration flow. When making an account, our password-strength checker now ensures that your password is, in the truest sense of the word, safe. At the same time, the account creation process and user onboarding flow (filling out personal details and similar prerequisites) has itself been smoothened out to a further degree. Apart from over twenty other small improvements in the domains of content and user interface design, various new countries have also been added to our identity verification procedure, specifically Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland.
Looking ahead
The upcoming week looks to be promising for the Blockport team. From a product point of view, our Beta platform will offer the cryptocurrency withdrawal functionality as of next week. Users will therefore be able to transfer their funds to other crypto wallets if they wish to. Crucially, the upcoming week will also see improvements to the security infrastructure that will soon enable us to abandon the current VPN process required for Beta users. As mentioned before, the exact date will be announced next week.
