87 Block Producer candidates have joined forces to launch the EOS Mainnet. With the backing of 87 BPCs this brings together the largest unified effort for a mainnet launch.

Over the last few weeks a group of 60+ BPs have been preparing for launch utilizing EOS Canada’s bios boot to initialize the mainnet. EOS Canada’s 12 test runs have been open for all potential BPC’s and they’ve made the process auditable and open source to ensure it’s a fair and safe mechanism to boot up the network. But as we’ve seen, the EOS open source software is available for alterations and to be launched by anyone. This has been a competitive yet collaborative process with the need for 100s of potential BPs to join in on a unified effort.

On May 24th a statement released by IMEOS instructed the community of HelloEOS’s pledged for a unified launch of EOS. This statement at first was misunderstood by many in the EOS community to mean they were launching their own chain. The intent of the message was later clarified, the group of Chinese block producers were merely pledging to the community to present a single mainnet. HelloEOS along with 86 other BPs have released a joint statement that they’ll be joining forces to launch a single EOS Mainnet.

Kevin Wilcox from EOS GO summarized the recent news about the IMEOS announcement. After furter clarification the IMEOS announcement was actually an announcement for a single EOS chain. [Edited: May 26th]

Due to some swift action from block producer candidates they’ve mostly all unified with the goal of launching a single EOS chain. Below, you’ll see the joint statement and the names of the 87 candidates working to launch the mainnet

To The EOS Token Holder Community,

As the launch of EOS nears, speculation within the community concerning competing EOS mainnet launches has increased. As one of many Block Producers across the world responsible for organizing and launching the EOS mainnet, we would like to put the community at ease and declare our intent for the following:

We do hereby pledge to present to the community one chain which fully honours the EOS token distribution for their validation. We further agree that we will support calling this validated chain the EOS mainnet, exclusively and definitively.

We publish this letter in concert with following Block Producer candidates from the global community:
