Just over one year ago, we launched the BlockStamp blockchain’s first core application: value transfer. It’s similar to that of the Bitcoin blockchain — of which BlockStamp is a fork — just faster.

Since then, we’ve come a long way! And in more ways than one.

All three of our core applications (gambling, data sealing, and alternative DNS domain registrations) are live for techies.

That means if you are comfortable working with the back end tech for each application, you can do so it right now! A good place to start is our desktop app, a proudly barebones window into the digital soul of BlockStamp ;) You’re also welcome to dive into our Github and see the code behind everything we are doing.

On the other hand, we don’t think blockchain benefits are just for techies.

Could you imagine if everyone needed to understand how email technology worked to be able to use it? That sounds crazy — at least today it does, anyway. Blockchain tech is also going to have user-friendly, mass-market appeal soon. And we’re helping it along with increasingly better front end designs for BlockStamp applications. BlockStamp Games was our first major milestone here and we’re going to be adding easy data sealing capabilities to our online wallet soon.

Recently, we’ve achieved some great progress towards making BlockStamp a popular project that everyone can get involved with.

In particular:

The BlockStamp community is bigger and more active thanks to two successful bounty campaigns.

We wrapped up the most recent one last week. We had 15,568 new wallets opened during this round.

15,568 wallets in roughly a month! Wow! This community is obviously growing big-time.

We also had plenty of other activity going on, with BlockStampers getting active on social media and publishing their own blog articles and videos.

We had such great interest that we even had to time-restrict some bounty tasks just so we could stay on top of everything :)

You guys are awesome!

And the BST was listed on two more crypto exchanges, bringing the total to four.

The BST — the BlockStamp blockchain’s native crypto coin — was recently listed on the Stex and Tokok crypto exchanges.

Alongside Crex24 and Picostocks that means you can buy and sell on four different exchanges around the interwebs. We’re working hard to bring you even more!

Of course that’s important because the rest of the world doesn’t run purely on crypto. And we doubt it ever will.

We’re carving out a corner of the digital economy for the BlockStamp ecosystem — and we want to make it as easy as possible for BlockStampers to move in and out of it from other ecosystems that run on other cryptocurrencies or even fiat. That means getting listed on more exchanges!

Watch this space for more updates.

About BlockStamp:

BlockStamp is a multipurpose Bitcoin blockchain fork developed to promote liberty, transparency, and sovereignty in areas of the digital economy where these fundamental values are most at risk. BlockStamp hosts a radically fair gambling platform, a digital tool for transparently sealing data, a censorship-proof internet Domain Naming System, and the BST crypto coin.
