Welcome to our 15th Blocktix Development Update. This marks eight months since the end of crowdfunding and we’re happy to share a very special update this week. Besides our usual updates about the development of our ticketing platform, we can finally share our first scheduled event. But first:

Social Media

As always, we invite everyone to keep up to date on our progress and to join the Blocktix conversation on our social media channels:

If you are not connected yet, we invite you to join our Discord server to explore the features of Blocktix, ask questions or just have a chat with other supporters.

First Event Announcement

From the beginning, we knew that one of the best ways to build our user base, attract other promoters and prove the Blocktix concept would be to host our own events. We’ve been very busy planning a calendar of events in both the United States and Europe with this in mind.

Today, we are very happy and proud to announce the first event that will run a live pilot of the Blocktix ticketing system.

Introducing Neverland. The Neverland Festival takes place over two days, the 14th and 15th of July 2018, in Landgraaf, the Netherlands.

The festival will have three stages with a Mainstage for EDM, a tent for darker Techno tunes and a third, smaller stage featuring House & Deephouse artists.

Recently announced artists include Art Department, ASK:ME, Audio Bullys, Deepend, Le Shuuk, Lucas & Steve, Marek Hemmann, Maurice West and the first Neverland Festival headliner: Steve Aoki.

Visit the Neverland Festival social channels for more information:

Blocktix Pilot

We’ll be piloting the Blocktix system using the Neverland Festival guest list. As this will be the first time Blocktix will be used in a live, real world situation, we understand the need for a backup system and the festival’s guest list fits our required test environment perfectly.

Blocktix is working with the Neverland Events organization to perfect our ticketing system and we expect this important step to go very smoothly. We will provide festival guest-listers with their unique guest list tickets through the Blocktix app and on the Ethereum mainnet. These tickets will be redeemed at the guest list entrance at the festival grounds using the Blocktix Mobile App.

The data from this pilot will be used to prepare us for our next two events in the United States, both in 2018. By 2019, Blocktix will be ready to fully ticket the next Neverland Festival.

Development of Blocktix

Since our last update two weeks ago, we have been busy continuing the development of our app. We have been focused on improvements in infrastructure and processes ahead of the upcoming release. We expect to have both the Android and the iOS apps on the Ethereum mainnet by the end of April.

In other aspects of the Blocktix platform, we’ve developed the Ethereum withdrawal process for event creators/promoters and have successfully written the appropriate contracts while working on the UX side of things.

Another important step for Blocktix is of course the native wallet solution. This will allow users to use the webapp without the need for MetaMask which is paramount to making the system accessible to everyone in the world.

We’ve also started the initial work on the credit card acceptance system and have been working on the ticket redemption flow for the production version of Blocktix.

As you can read, we’re busy with many things regarding development and making nice progress with the project overall.

In Conclusion

We’re are very proud and happy to be able to show what we’ve been working on for the past months regarding our own Blocktix hosted events. Next to that we keep moving forward in fast strides with the Development work.

We cannot wait to see you all at Neverland or one of the two USA hosted events later this year!
