Dear community and blockchain enthusiasts.

Today I write you as CEO of Blocktix, a company that’s goal is to bring the beneficial features of blockchain technology to the real world by providing a better and far less costly ticketing system. Our mission is the same today as it been since late 2016 when Blocktix began development, and we have been hard at work on delivering this goal. During the process of development and pilot testing, we have augmented and improved on our vision by listening to promoters, the market and consumers a-like.

In January 2018, the first iteration of Blocktix (Alpha) was released. Over the months following this release, we continued development and added features to actually release a market ready version of the Blocktix system. This version is now available in both the Android PlayStore and the iTunes AppStore. With this release, everyone in the world can now ticket their events through the Blocktix system using the Ethereum blockchain.

In 2018 Blocktix contracted with promoters to host events on behalf of Blocktix. This event hosting strategy was to provide a platform for pilot testing the ticketing system and to gain exposure for Blocktix in the event promotion marketplace. These pilot events were held in Europe (Neverland — July, 2018) and the US (Firebird — September, 2018). Although the ticketing pilots at both the events were successful, we have ended the relationship with both promoters and have pivoted to a new and more efficient model to spread the use of Blocktix.

Neverland & FireBird Festival in 2018

Through the pilot events and associated industry interactions at these events, it became clear that there is a need in the marketplace that Blocktix is uniquely positioned to fill. To capitalize on this need, we have been developing a ‘white label’ solution on top of the current DAPP. White labeling the Blocktix system allows promoters and organizers the option of embedding our full ticketing solution within one of their own apps making it possible to create a seamless experience for the consumer without needing to install different apps for the same event.

The whitelabel solution is under continued development but has already been tested at a live event in December of 2018. The solution performed flawlessly with under 1% of ticket buying consumers requiring technical assistance with the application. Most of the attendees of the event AND the promoter of the event were blown away with how the system worked. The ability to add a proximity beacon to the entrance of the event made it possible for the embedded Blocktix whitelabel to instantly push the ticket to the home-screen of all attendee devices entering the venue. The attendees received a notification to open the ticket so it could be instantly scanned.

We are currently further testing and refining the MVP of the Blocktix whitelabel ticketing solution to meet the needs of the market. This process of development and iteration will be ongoing through 2019. We have further expanded the whitelabel development path to provide a solution to application developers looking for a way to build local downloads of their app through sponsored local events. More on this to come in future updates…

The ‘Crypto Winter’ and Blocktix

The “crypto-winter” has been a challenging time for most all projects involved in the space. During this temporary growing-pains period for the crypto industry, Blocktix has delivered on the following:

  • A fully functional and useable ticketing system built on the blockchain
  • Tested the ticketing system in the real world with two live events of nearly 20,000 attendees (test only % of tickets) (July 2018 & September 2018)
  • Developed a whitelabel solution to further meet the needs of the ticketing marketplace (MVP November 2018)
  • Fully ticketed an event of over 500 attendees on the whitelabel solution with NO backup to the ticketing system. (December 2018)
  • A new website directed towards promoters and the event marketplace (January 2019)

Blocktix is now continuing the development of the DAPP and whitelabel solution to lead a sales push of the ticketing solution into the marketplace. The Blocktix company is financially solvent and has used funds for development efficiently. Funds are available for continued development and expansion of Blocktix for years and maybe far longer as revenue sources begin to be developed.

Thank you all for your continued support of the Blocktix ticketing solution and our goal of disrupting the ticketing industry through application of blockchain technology.

Sincerely,

Rob Schins
