A Consensus Issue with new Constantinople fork appeared in Ropsten TestNet. As reported by Afri Schoedon we won’t see Constantinople in 2018.

Apparently what happened is that block production time rose significantly right after block #4,230,000; in both Parity Technologies and Geth separate sidechains were created and some additional “minor” bugs have occurred

Blockstream has officially launched Liquid Network — the world’s first production Bitcoin sidechain, that provides fast, secure, and confidential transactions to address the needs of exchanges, brokers, market makers, and financial institutions around the world. One of the major benefits is that this functionality would benefit decentralization of Bitcoin trading because it would allow Exchanges to provide cryptocurrency liquidity, similarly as it happens today in banking and fiat

Chainalysis Team revealed data that suggests that Bitcoin Whales are not responsible for volatility. Interesting facts accrued from this research: 1. Apparently, about 30% of active “whale wallets” appeared only in 2017 and actively trades on exchanges. 2. Most of the miner-wallets involvement in trading activities are “extremely-rare” 3. Ethereum Classic Labs has announced an incubation program for as many as 24 startups each year. With decent technical features, Ethereum Classic didn’t have much exposure during ICO rally and very little ICO’s launched there.
