Hello there dear blockwhat? reader,

I hope you had a great start into 2019! Time is flying by and with January already being behind us, I’d love to share with you this brief recap of the past month.

January has been truly exciting and I was humbled to finish it on a exceptionally lovely note — being selected as a “Top Writer” in Bitcoin.

Without any further ado, let’s jump right into the story rundown.

The posts published this month focused mainly on one of the most essential aspects of blockchain technology — how to find consensus in a decentralized system.

We started off by looking at Byzantine Fault Tolerance

Next up we got to know the mother of blockchain consensus mechanisms, Proof of Work

Afterwards, we journeyed into the world of Proof of Stake

As I want to share the resources that have helped me a great deal to fathom blockchains and their potential ramifications, I’ve started a section in which I review the books and resources, that facilitated my journey greatly! The latest review looks at “Blockchain and the Law”, a wonderful nuanced book by Primavera De Filippi and Aaron Wright.

What’s to come?

Currently I’m working on a draft for the final part of the Finding Consensus series, in which I’ll look into alternative consensus mechanisms apart from Proof of Work and Proof of Stake.

Afterwards there are two super interesting aspects that I’ll look into before finishing the Technological Foundations (for the moment being at least) — first, we will look into the different parts that make up blockchain networks and afterwards we’ll finish with a thorough look at Tokens and Tokenization.

Thank you very much for being an avid reader of blockwhat?, it means the world to me and I thoroughly hope that you enjoy the published content!

Yours truly
