Starting with iPhone 5S introduced in 2013 all Apple smartphones have been built using 64-bit computing. Nevertheless, there are still plenty of apps in App Store which are not optimized for it and are designed for 32-bit devices. Rumor has it that in the coming iOS version Apple is going to completely give up on 32-bit apps’ support. And there seems to be more than enough ground for such rumors.

Recently it was reported that 32-bit are no longer shown in App Store Search results. This means users can only find these apps via direct links. This measure is supposed to make developers hurry up with upgrading their apps and introducing 64-bit computing technology.

It’s worth noting that starting with iOS 10.3 Apple began warning 32-bit apps’ users that these apps can affect the speed of their device and has to be updated. Since February 2015 Apple is no longer accepting for approval apps without 64-bit computing support.
