Last week Tinder hit number 1 in American App Store’s top grossing category for the first time. The company’s CPO, Brian Norgard shared this news on his Twitter:

This growth is caused by launching a subscription, Tinder Gold for $14.99. This product among the provided features removes ads, offers 5 Super Likes per day and also reveals a new service — “Likes You” that helps a customer to know who he is liked by.

We examined the search traffic of the application and made a Top-10 list of words that gave the application the biggest amounts of installs.

Tinder Organic Report from ASOdesk.com

As you can see Tinder is on the top in the search not only in “its” keywords but also in most of competitors’ ones such as Grindr, Bumble, Match.com, POF, okcupid.

The most logical search “dating apps” is faraway on the 18th place and among non-brand requests the first place holds “iphone chat” which brings about hundreds of installs.

But what is on the top while searching “iphone chat”? It is Snapchat, of course. This search request gives the messenger about 700 installs per day (from 1589 search requests) in American App Store. This means that IPhone users’ demand for means of communications continues to be unabated.
