Over the last year, we have received a lot of suggestions from thousands of customers on our apps. Today we are happy to announce that we’re rolling out a number of upgrades and fixes.

NB: If you haven’t received the updates yet, don’t worry, you’ll get it soon. We’ll roll out the updates in controlled increments over the next week to all users.

You’ll notice some of the changes right away, such as the ability to share directly from your mobile device to your favorite app. We’ve also made some under-the-hood adjustments to give you a smoother experience across our cloud, mobile and desktop applications.

Desktop improvements

With this update, we have made a number of refinements to the user experience so that you can more easily find and organize your documents.

Using drag and drop to organize documents is now possible within the desktop application. You can move your imported documents within the app by simply dragging them into and out of folders. You will now also be able to import documents directly into a folder by opening the target folder first.

We revamped the way your reMarkable handles PDF exports with our 1.6 reMarkable device update. We’ve now expanded that functionality to the desktop interface. You’ll find quite a few improvements when handling or exporting PDFs from your desktop. Most importantly, the quality of exported and imported documents have been significantly improved, while the size of those same documents has been reduced. You can also now export your files simultaneously.

As with the other apps, the desktop app will be rolled out over the next week. When available to you, your desktop app should update automatically, so long as you are connected to the internet.

Mobile improvements

You can now share your document as a PDF directly from your mobile device. Simply open the three-dot menu to access the share button. Choose among your favorite apps to share your documents, such as Gmail, Google Drive or Slack. A number of bugs and improvements have been addressed in this update. We think you’ll find your new mobile reMarkable experience to be significantly more smooth, friendly, and intuitive.

If your phone uses Android, you’ll find the mobile update in Google Play. iOS users can use the App store to update their reMarkable app. As with the desktop app the updates will be rolled out over the coming week.
