reMarkable software update 2.2 introduces trash and swipe down to close, two important new additions to the user experience.

Trash functions much as you might expect, reducing the likelihood of files or documents getting deleted accidentally, while also making it easier to retrieve deleted files if you happen to change your mind.

Swipe down to close, again expands reMarkable’s touch functionality, making it possible to close documents simply by swiping down from the top of the screen.

As usual, we’re really looking forward to seeing how the new functionality is received as it gradually rolls out.

NB: This update will roll out to reMarkable users over the coming weeks. Learn how reMarkable rolls out software updates

Here are the highlights:

  • The option to delete when long-pressing an item has been replaced by ‘Move to trash’.
  • Restore or permanently delete items from the trash.
  • Swipe down from the top of the screen to close notes, PDFs, or ebooks.
  • Overall performance and stability improvements.
