Vinicius Martins was the first brazilian to be qualified for the 4th edition of the Transcontinental Race, that will cross Europe in around to 17 days and make the challengers ride more than 4,000 km.

The race will start on July, 29th in Belgium towards Turkey, crossing countries like France, Switzerland, Italy, Montenegro and Greece. To be exact, the path is made by the cyclist itself, providing that they make it to the control points within the specific deadline. There is more: every guy is responsible for get fed and bike maintenance. No external support is allowed, at the spirit of the Audax Randonneurs Brevets.

In one more cycling job, I partnered up with photographer Bárbara Bombachini to portray Vinicius, his bike and the trip setup. He will ride on a Specialized AWOL equipped with Shimano Ultegra Di2, Apidura Bags with no racks, Quarq crankset to track his wattage, a bunch of gadgets to light up the road, track the route, with a shot of good taste gave by a Brooks saddle and the Planet Bike bamboo fenders.

Vinicius got a Facebook fanpage and Velodrome Bikeshop, one of this sponsors, is selling a cycling jersey and a t-shirt for the ones who want to support him. Also, on brazilian holiday of 9th July, within some weeks, these tees will be launched in a rad party at Velodrome. So, if you are in São Paulo, drop by for some beers and support this cause!
