Dio’s Journey to Becoming a Karateka: From Hitting Friends to Winning Championships!
Aldio Putra Pradana Joiti, or Dio for short, was quite the troublemaker during his elementary school days, often resorting to hitting his friends. It’s no wonder his parents were called into the school on multiple occasions.
To curb his mischievous behavior, Dio’s parents came up with the idea to enroll him in a karate class located near his school. Surprisingly, his behavior improved significantly and he began excelling in karate.
Over the years, Dio has achieved numerous titles and championships in karate. Although he tried out other martial arts such as pencak silat and taekwondo, he eventually focused solely on karate.
Practicing Since The Age Of 8, Injuries Have Become a Common Thing For Dio
Starting his training at the age of 8, Dio has been practicing karate for over ten years. He faced several challenges at the beginning, including transportation issues and having to buy his karate equipment with his own money.
Since the karate class was located near his school, Dio often had to carry his equipment to school before heading to training. This was quite cumbersome as the equipment was quite heavy. However, with his perseverance and his parents’ support, Dio managed to overcome all the obstacles.
Despite the challenges, practicing karate has resulted in several injuries for this Communication Studies student at Universitas Terbuka, ranging from sprains to bruises all over his body.
Failure Makes Dio Grow More Mature When Competing
While winning is not everything, losing can be a tough pill to swallow. Dio experienced disappointment when he lost in the Kata category during a karate competition in middle school. He was overconfident and assumed the judges would be wowed by his moves. However, he learned from his defeat and continued to work hard to improve himself.
As a result of his dedication, Dio has gone on to win national and international karate championships. He has since chosen to focus on the Kumite category after participating in the Kata category for several years.
Aside from karate, this talented athlete born on May 25, 2004, is also exploring the world of acting. Seeing Dio’s inspiring journey, it’s time to show our support for him to pursue his karate career professionally and achieve even more in the future.
