From Basketball to Football, Michael’s Struggle to Become a Talented Athlete

Michael Widyasworo is a young man with a plethora of dreams and aspirations at the age of 13. Michael, as he is affectionately called, began honing his skills with the round ball from an early age, showcasing his abilities through football. However, did you know that football was not the sport Michael initially pursued?

Michael admitted that he played basketball before focusing on football. As a football player, he has carved out various impressive achievements. Starting from being a top scorer with 21 goals, to winning various championship titles, including the recent NYXS BLiSPI Cup Championship. Of course, these achievements cannot be separated from the hard work he has put in through various training sessions every day.

Michael, who is in 7th grade at Safi Pati Sports School, admitted that he began to get interested in football through his grandfather and father. He started to get motivated because of the support from his parents. Then, he began to focus on football at the age of 6 until now.

Struggle and Hard Work

Michael Widyasworo is a young player full of talent, and he can play various positions that are certainly favored by many coaches. Michael can play as a midfielder, winger, wingback, and striker.

It’s not easy to play various positions, that’s why Michael always works hard to hone his abilities. He not only trains in the morning and afternoon, 9 times a week, but Michael also admitted that he trains independently during holidays.

“We go to practice together with friends because we live in a dormitory. We train 9 times a week in the morning and afternoon. Usually, if there’s a holiday, I use it for independent training. I once became a top scorer in the village soccer school with 21 goals,” said Michael.

Michael Football Dream, Playing in Top European Leagues

Michael has football idols who motivate him in playing football, namely Ronaldinho and Messi. Michael also likes top clubs in Europe such as Barcelona and Manchester City, while in the Indonesian League, he idolizes Persija.

As a football player, Michael is determined to continue honing his abilities so that he can achieve his dreams, one of which is playing for the Indonesian national team.
