Fitriyani Nurjanah’s victory alongside her friends from Bandung BJB Tandamata in Proliga Putri 2023 has brought increased popularity into Fitri’s life. This volleyball player from Bandung has successfully showcased her quality to the world through the sport of volleyball.

Fitri started getting acquainted with volleyball when she was in the 5th grade of elementary school. Apart from it being a popular sport, volleyball was also her family’s favorite. That’s why volleyball became the sport closest to Fitri’s heart.

Initially, Fitri practiced in a volleyball club in Soreang, Bandung, until she was in 8th grade. Later on, she decided to continue her training at Wahana Express Group club in Bandung up until now.

It didn’t take long for Fitri to grasp the rules of the game, especially since she won the O2SN (School Sports Week) volleyball competition right in 5th grade.

Until now, Fitri has gone through various competitions, from local tournaments to national-level championships like Proliga and other competitions.

Fitri’s Success Factors

Although Fitri was born into a family that loves volleyball, she believes that her skill in playing volleyball didn’t come solely from her family’s heritage but was the result of the contributions of various individuals who continuously encouraged her to practice and improve.

Fitri is extremely grateful for the unwavering support of her family, friends, and coaches during every training session she attends. That’s why she diligently practices to continuously make herself and those around her proud.

Almost every day, Fitri goes through rigorous training from morning until evening. Additionally, she also does supplementary exercises to strengthen her leg and arm muscles.

Moreover, while there are no strict dietary restrictions, Fitri pays close attention to the balance of her nutritional needs. She understands that nutrition and body weight can affect her flexibility in playing.

These training sessions are crucial for Fitri. Not only because she is a professional volleyball athlete but also because she plays as a setter.

It can be said that the setter is a pivotal position that determines where the ball will be directed. Thus, a setter needs not only skill but also cleverness in facing various situations.

Fitri is aware of her imperfections. That’s why she never knows the word “fatigue” when it comes to honing her skills. Especially because there are still many other opportunities she wants to achieve. Fitri dreams of having the chance to bring glory to Indonesian volleyball through the SEA Games and other world-class volleyball competitions.
