Tips on Becoming an Accurate Archer like Robin Hood
Archery is a skill possessed by many fictional characters, one of which is Robin Hood. He is known for his unparalleled archery skills in facing his enemies.
The ability to shoot arrows like Robin Hood has become increasingly popular, especially among the younger generation. In Indonesia, many potential young athletes in archery have achieved impressive awards and achievements.
To have the same skills as Robin Hood, you need to familiarize yourself with the techniques, basic equipment, and rules, and practice diligently to improve your abilities. Here are some tips on becoming a professional archer from Indonesia’s potential young athletes.
Agni Naura Putri — 17 Years Old
Agni Naura Putri, a 17-year-old young athlete, has achieved various impressive achievements in the field of archery. Naura, as she is commonly known, started learning archery in middle school. She admitted that she began seriously pursuing archery in 2021.
Naura entered the professional archery class in her second year of high school. This achievement was not without struggle as Naura spent most of her time practicing instead of playing.
During middle school, Naura practiced archery once a week. However, since entering high school, Naura increased her training program to 5–6 times a week. Naura’s hard work and effort paid off as she could shoot up to 200 arrows per practice with a draw weight of up to 20 kilograms.
Naura shared tips for young people who want to become skilled archers. According to her, it takes hard work and diligent practice to improve skills.
“Physical strength is important, consume a balanced diet, be disciplined, and receive support from parents,” said Naura.
Physical strength plays a significant role in success in archery as an archer needs to lift a bow with a weight of up to 6 kilograms during each practice.
Naura’s hope for 2023 is to win national and international events. As for long-term targets, Naura aims to be part of the Indonesian compound archery national team.

M Ryan Hidayat — 16 Years Old
At a relatively young age, Ryan has achieved remarkable achievements in archery. Ryan, who is now in the first year of SMAN 2 Bekasi, started learning archery when he was a child.
Starting when he accidentally saw an archery athlete practicing, Ryan, who was only 12 years old at the time, became interested in archery. In 2017, Ryan decided to seriously practice archery. At the age of 13, in 2018, Ryan started participating in various events and competitions. He admitted to shooting up to 100 arrows during each practice and training 5–6 days a week.
Ryan aims to strengthen the Indonesian compound national team. To achieve his dream, he spends 6–8 hours a day practicing. For education, Ryan takes online classes and only goes to school on Saturdays. His sacrifices and hard work in improving his skills have paid off as Ryan won a gold medal at the prestigious PORDA Jabar event in 2022.
Ryan shared tips on how to become a skilled archer. According to him, to play well, one needs to sharpen their technique and skills, practice shooting, and strengthen physical fitness. Ryan also admitted to practicing alone outside of his training program.
