Changing narratives to trust each other | Mohamed Alabridi
We need to create new proverbs, quotes and narratives, because it’s what makes what we call traditions.
For example we have a local proverb: Tar of my country better than honey of others’ countries. That assumes that our country is compared to Tar, which can become: If the tar choke you chance the threshold for instance.
And those narratives can be changes through workshops with kids, teaching that integrity comes first, not rewards.
I suggest that Rap music and slam poetry could shift from dissing to expressing values and the positive spirit to conduct trust, at least it’s better than talking about money, or curves.
