Integration with Zapier, Auto-Sync & Live Updates

Hot on the heels of our latest release that happened a week ago — here we are again, with new updates in Pics.io Digital Assets Management app.

In this release we’ve deployed two groundbreaking things: integration with Zapier and auto-sync. Keep on reading to learn more how it works.

Integration with Zapier makes you happier

This is what Zapier promises when you set up an account with them. And there’s a great deal of truth about it. For those who don’t have a clue about what Zapier is — here’s a brief explanation.

As Zapier team puts it themselves, “it’s the glue that connects web apps, so they can work together”. As short as it sounds, this definition describes the very gist of what Zapier does.

In other words, Zapier integration with help you connect Pics.io with any other app you need. SRM, CMS, project management tool, another storage, internal wiki, social media platforms… to mention just a few. As you build such connection, you create uninterrupted flow of information between the apps and automate your business operations.

Here’s how it works:

  1. On the one end of your workflow you have Pics.io library.
  2. On the other end — there’s another app such as Asana, Salesforce, Facebook, Dropbox… You name it.
  3. What you want is to connect these two ends into a single workflow that runs automatically.

For example, you may want certain docs from Pics.io to be automatically copied to Dropbox storage or published on your Facebook page. Or you may want your images get auto-posted on Facebook.

4. Put Zapier in the middle of this equation and let it run.

You can build as many zaps as your Zapier account allows. And what kind of zaps these may be — your imagination is the only limit!

Want to start right now?

Get registered in Zapier if you are not there yet and start building your zaps. See detailed instruction about Zapier integration in our Help centre.

NB For the time being, Pics.io is running in BETA mode in Zapier. We invite you to try it and give us your feedback. Please.

Auto-Sync — another long-awaited update in Pics.io

As you know, Pics.io works on top of Google Drive, which is our major competitive advantage. Your Google Drive is the storage where all your digital assets are kept. That’s why, impeccable synchronization between what happens in Pics.io and what is stored in Google Drive is a number one priority.

Until recently, our users only relied on manual syncing. Every now and then you had to go to Pics.io settings and press Sync to maintain the consistency between your Google Drive and Pics.io library. And if you forgot about that… well, your bad.

Not any more!

From now on, you can say goodbye to all that stuff. Our users with paid billing plans can benefit from Auto-sync. As you can guess from the name, our Google Drive syncs with Pics.io automatically at regular intervals. Learn more about Auto-sync intervals ob our pricing page.

NB Please mind that Auto-sync is still in BETA version. We are gradually making it active for all our users, but this may take time. If you want to test it right now, please drop us a line at support@pics.io.

What else in this release?

We’ve introduced Live Updates. These are real-time indications that tell you that something is happening in your digital library right now, as you’re working in it.

What can it be? Well… while you are working collectively on a shared project with your team, somebody may add a new collection, upload a new asset, approve or disapprove a revision, change the rating, etc. How do you become aware of these changes?

Before this release, there was no way to learn about these changes. You were doomed to stay ignorant until you refreshed your page in Pics.io.

Such unawareness may potentially lead to misunderstanding. That’s why we’ve introduced live updates. From now on, changes are highlighted right after they happened in your library.

The notifications are low-key and quite unobtrusive. Yet, they will help you literary stay on the same page with the rest of the team.

That’s it for now.

Stay tuned for more news from Pics.io!
