Statistics state that around 64% of the people in their day to day life prefer in-store shopping than online shopping and in that 64%, around 30% of them are frequent shoppers, 50% of them are average shoppers, and 20% are rare shoppers. So this is the present scenario in shopping world, although they are plenty of online websites, e-commerce available, still there are majority of the population who prefer realistic shopping than the virtual ones, in this case it is necessary for the retailers to keep their consumers engaging and do innovative measures to keep them hold, one such solution for enhancing user experience in shopping curve is to fetch the items they need at a stroke and to reduce the billing queues which in turn increases productivity of the consumer and profit to the retailer, this can be done with the usage of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and how it works is discussed in this report in detail further.

Problem identification:

This problem is faced by every one of us, now and then when we go for shopping, where the items are there in a big departmental store, how to find them, asking the sales person nowadays also does not lend a hand then what else can be done? Should the whole thing shifted to be bought in online, but most of love to touch and feel the object before buying it, also shopping is one of the community activities for women and elder people where they go out meet people and get engaged themselves. So this is the present scenario imagine in 8 floored building searching for products will itself make them tired and will likely affect the profit of the store, so we are proposing a model to show the locations of products they want to buy.

Proposed solution:

We are here propose a model where the retailer needs to upload the design of the shop; our model would fix the points of reference for each section of items and when the customer uploads their list of requirements based on the keywords of items the particular section is shown and the shortest way to reach out to that section is also displayed, also going at the wrong direction can also be notified and once the purchase is over the usual products list they upload if any of the items are missing out then that also is suggested, so on finishing the shopping when the customer needs to bill the products, with the product list they upload and choose from our model, the bill is also generated simultaneously and a bill number is assigned, so once billing is notified to be free the customer goes to the billing section the item list with price is given to the system the billing person needs to just check the items and collect the cash and pack the items, this way shopping can be done with ease and accessible also retailers would be benefited.

How technologies contribute to it:

Map software is required to fix the reference points inside the shop which is to be shown to the customer based on the product preferences and the way or route is shown and we use recommender systems back end working to provide similar set of objects and discounted items based on likes and previous buys are shown and once the purchase is done bill is generated and sent to the billing system and based on billing number priority customer is called and bill printed, items checked and amount paid

Improvements suggested:

Once this is implemented for working model, then we can add the payment automation model, where the customer can previously store certain amount and that can be deducted using card recharge methods and automatic generation of shopping list can also be done with internet of things, and this way of automatic monitoring of items taken and billing can be done using RFID tags on the items and inventory management in stores can also be done with this automated store system.

Conclusion:

I strongly believe that this solution for Enhancing the In-Store Experience for the Customers in Retail stores with the use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning’ which is based on the technology of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, can definitely provide an excellent experience for the consumers who prefer in-store shopping with the help of enhanced researches, required data sets and experiments. This can provide ease of access for the products to be purchased by every consumer and would increase the benefit for customer and profit for retailers. This idea can be modeled using Artificial intelligence and machine learning which would serve every individual in making easy shopping which reduces time spent on purchasing and making it more engaging.
