It’s a known fact that over 95% of people fail in blogging and are not able to either monetize their blog properly or continue their blogging momentum for the long term.

In this post, we are going to discuss seven essential tips for running a successful blog:

1. Be passionate about your blog niche:

If you want to run a successful blog, you need to find a niche that you are passionate about. You are going to spend a tremendous amount of time on your blog and if you are not passionate about it, it’s really tough to be consistent in your work.

2. Provide either value or entertainment:

These are the only two thing that attracts the viewers. It’s always great to add value to other’s life. On the other hand, if you are not confident that you have any talent through which you can add value, then entertain them.

3. Chose the right domain name

Although as a beginner, you can argue that there are a number of websites with long-boring names and still famous. However, if you want to have an advantage, keep the name short and catchy. If you cannot defeat them, at least sound better than them.

4. Do not care about monetization for at least first three months:

No one makes huge money on the first few months of blogging. It’s better to create an audience and earn their trust first. Once, you have an audience, you can make money anytime, even just by selling a 4-page ebook to your loyal readers.

5. Focus on one social media while starting:

Jack of all trades, master of none”. This doesn’t work pretty well for blogging.

Focus on just one social media first and make a huge fans/audience in that media. It can be anything- FB, Quora, Pinterest, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram etc. If you try to get followers on all at once, it’s pretty difficult.

However, once you have thousands of followers on one media, you can communicate with them to like/follow your other social media accounts too.

6. Be consistent:

The only thing people notices is consistency. If you write a blog post every day, people will notice. They will ask themselves- How this guy/girl is doing this, a post every day that’s appreciable. People will forget you soon enough if you just write on tremendous blog post a month. This is the reason why most of the politicians stick their photographs everywhere before elections. They want to sound consistent with their slogans. Similarly, you too need to be consistent. Write at least one blog post per day for the first 60 days when you start blogging.

7. Have patience:

Most of the good things in this life take time. You cannot be successful just by working on your blog for just one month. If that was the scene, everyone would have quit their job and started blogging from home. You need to have patience and keep working hard.
