First of all, if you are not using the ‘YOAST’ plugin on WordPress, install it right now. I highly recommend following the instructions given by the Yoast plugin while writing a blog post. It will help you boost your search engine optimization.

To increase the traffic by SEO, here are few guidelines:

1. Use long tail keywords:

If your site is new and you are using short keywords, believe me, you won’t be able to rank on google for that. It’s tough to get on page one for the keyword ‘Online marketing’. However, if you try for the long tail keyword like ‘Online marketing strategy for startup’, then you might get ranked. This is an example of a long tail keyword.

Although, the search traffic density for ‘Online marketing’ will be way higher than the long tail words, however getting ranked for those keywords is extremely difficult. On the other hand, even if you get on ranked on page one for the long tail, you will be able to get good organic traffic.

2. Have a decent keyword density on your blog post:

For the beginners, it’s highly recommended to increase the keyword density if you want to get ranked. A decent density will be somewhere between 0.5–1% for the keyword.

3. Integrate videos on your blog post:

If the videos are good, people will watch it and it will increase the stay time of the audience on your blog post. This will further boost your page rank.

4. Get backlinks:

Backlinks help a lot in getting ranked on google. Get backlinks from whichever source you can get. Comment on blog posts, join online forums, ask for links from the websites on the same nice, write guest posts. If you are able to get even a few good backlinks, your page rank and traffic will increase significantly.
