Dealing with too many words
For slightly longer than forever, my dinosaurs and I have been complaining about there being “just too many words” on a presentation slide.
I’ve had nothing better to offer than “just don’t it” and occasionally speaking well from a deck with all the words removed.
Today, I found something else (perhaps even something that is occasionally better) to suggest.
Look at Cole Nussbaumer Knaflic’s presentation of the text of Lincon’s Gettysburg Address.

She has almost 100x of what I consider the maximum number of words for a single slide.
And it’s visually appealing; more than just appealing, it’s beautiful.
And effective.
And, it could be made with any standard tool without any plugins or special tools.
All that is required is an insight.
An insight that, on my own, I would have never had.
