How Many Views Do Medium Articles Get?
And what steps can writers take to get more views?
Is Medium’s Audience Large Enough To Generate Large Amounts of Traffic for my Content?
In May of 2019, Medium received an astonishing 236.65 million views. That means that out of all the websites on the internet, Medium is ranked 219 in terms of traffic.
Additionally, Medium’s visitor traffic has consistently increased month over month the last 6 months. Search results (primarily Google) account for 63% of the total traffic and an astonishing 99.99% of that traffic is organic (as opposed to paid).
So clearly Medium receives enough traffic that it could support tens of thousands of highly viewed articles. But how are these views distributed across the platform and how many views do independent writers (as opposed to large corporate accounts syndicating content — WSJ, NYT, FastCompany, etc.) actually receive?
