Last year’s 1st annual quest for the Breakthrough Fashion Blogger of the Year was so inspiring that we just had to do it again. This year, Bloglovin’ and H&M have teamed up with Leandra Medine of Man Repeller to discover the world’s next big thing in fashion blogging: The 2016 Breakthrough Fashion Blogger of the Year.

In 2015, Bloglovin’ and H&M selected Arielle Charnas of SomethingNavy, Vanessa Hong of The Haute Pursuit and Geri Hirsch of Because I’m Addicted to mentor the lucky finalists. 3 amazing bloggers were chosen out of the 2,000+ hopefuls who entered: Paola Alberdi of Blank Itinerary, Dannon Collard of Like the Yogurt and the 2015 Breakthrough Fashion Blogger of the Year winner Brittany Xavier of Thrifts and Threads.

Top fashion retailer, H&M, and leading lifestyle social discovery platform, Bloglovin’, have teamed up to announce the launch of a global blogger mentorship program, continuing their mission to foster the growth of the fashion and blogging industry. The program will be led by one of the first leaders of the fashion blogging community, Leandra Medine, creator of Man Repeller. The series gives aspiring fashion bloggers the chance to win a mentorship with Leandra, where they will learn best practices to distinguish themselves within the influential space.

Beginning on May 17, bloggers worldwide are encouraged to enter the program to be chosen as one of the five finalists who will be mentored by Leandra on July 11 in New York City at H&M’s U.S. corporate headquarters. Each finalist will receive one on one advice essential to furthering their careers as notable fashion bloggers. To enter, bloggers will be tasked to create a blog or Instagram post that represents their brand and personal style incorporating their favorite H&M pieces.

Following the mentorship day in July, one of the lucky finalists will be named H&M’s Breakthrough Fashion Blogger of the Year at the annual Bloglovin’ Awards during New York Fashion Week this September. The winner will also be featured on H&M’s leading editorial platform, H&M Magazine.

“At Bloglovin’, it has always been our mission to connect bloggers with the tools needed to evolve and grow their careers,” said Giordano Contestabile, CEO of Bloglovin’. “Together with H&M and Leandra of Man Repeller, it is our hope that with this program, we’ll be able to positively impact the upcoming generation of bloggers.”

“Bloggers are what is driving the definitive medium for fashion inspiration. H&M strives to inspire our customers to develop and have fun with their individual style,” says Marybeth Schmitt, communications director at H&M. “Together with Man Repeller and Bloglovin’, we look forward to educating and inspiring the next generation of influencers.”

This will be H&M and Bloglovin’s second year partnering together to support the blogging industry, which has grown rapidly in the past years, with reports citing upwards of 100 million more digital influencers popping up between 2013 and 2015 alone. With more eyes than ever on the blogging community, it’s essential that programs and partnerships between fashion and digital authorities such as H&M and Bloglovin’, exist to further substantiate the medium’s strong hold and influence on consumers.
