Over the last month, we’ve seen some incredible new people hop onboard. More so, we’ve seen quite a few DIY and Dog influencers join ACTIVATE. So, to bring you some of this crafty doggy goodness, we’ve compiled a list of our top influencers for the month of July:
1. Tibby The Corgi
Tibby The Corgi is one of the most photogenic pups we’ve ever seen! Since 2014, Shirley, Tibby’s mom has been posting photos of her pup getting into all sorts of shenanigans. She says,“Tibby is pretty sassy, so I like to come up with funny captions that most people can relate to. I’ve gotten emails about how those pictures of Tibby help people cope with depression, anxiety and MS. Who knew a little ball of fluff could bring so much joy? Those kinds of stories warm my heart and [are] the reason I continue [to] create content.”
2. Style It With Trix
She’s a queen of the NYC fashion scene and her dog Trix is too! Mercedes Gonzalez of Style It With Trix has been keeping her pooch in style since 2013. With a total reach of over 118,000 people, it’s clear that Mercedes and Trix are a noteworthy fashion duo. From formal to street style, there isn’t a look these two can’t take on. Whether they’re walking the streets of New York, or taking a stroll down the red carpet, you can be sure they’re always looking their best.
3. Bodega Cats Of Instagram
No, this isn’t a dog blog but hey — how could we not share Bodega Cats Of Instagram?Posting photos of cats from Bodegas all around the world, Rob Hitt, creator of the cat blog said he started posting “late one night when I was in a Brooklyn bodega. I saw a cat and had moment of if I don’t do this now, I’m going to look back one day and tell myself I thought of that first. So I dove in head-first.” Since then, Rob’s only goal has been to spread more “positivity and happiness to people” around the web.
4. LH Calligraphy
Laura Hooper of LH Calligraphy has some of the most incredible penmanship out there. She’s taken to Instagram since starting her business back in 2007, her hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed. “I have been in the wedding industry for over 15 years and have maintained my blog for over 10 years. While it has grown and developed over time, same as my business, it has really been the past couple of years that social media has grown to what it is today allowing me to leverage my platforms to reach such a large audience interested in the arts & creative pursuits.”
5. Hieu Cow
Over the last four years, Hieu Cao, the creative genius behind self-titled Instagram channel, Hieu Cow, has dyed her hair just about every color imaginable. From purple and red, to green and blue, Heiu has a serious passion for DIY hair. She says, “I love being challenged to constantly create. The possibilities are endless and my success is dependent [on] how much time and energy I choose to invest and how hard I’m willing to push myself to think outside the box. So it’s almost like a learning process on how to be a better person.”
6. The Crafted Life
Rachel Mae Smith of The Crafted Life takes DIY to a whole new level. Viewing the world through a Pantone perspective, Rachel’s DIY inspiration is incredible. For her, color is paramount and serves as the foundation for every project she’s working on. With projects ranging from 2 minutes to 2 hours, Rachel has enough crafting to keep you busy all summer long. She says that, “I actually started blogging in 2011 as a hobby to cope with working 70–80 hours a week at a stressful job. Getting to wake up everyday and be creative is hard to beat. That and I get to do it while wearing sweatpants.”
