Our first AMA in 2023
On 7 March, the team held an AMA (Ask Me Anything) with CEO Cliff Beek and CTO Jeff Garzik on discord. We had gathered a list of questions from the community before the AMA and got Cliff and Jeff to answer them. If you missed it, check out the video recording.
As there were a lot of questions, we did not manage to finish answering everything within the hour. However, the team is currently working on the answers, and we will share them once it is ready. Stay tuned!
Let’s Talk Shop with Elias Khnaser
CEO Cliff Beek was interviewed by internationally recognized thought leader Elias Khnaser in his podcast “Let’s Talk Shop”. The Chief of Research at EK Media Group wanted to find out more about blockchain in space, its use cases, and how it provides greater security. Tune in now!
A gathering of industry friends at Satellite 2023
It was a busy but productive week for CEO Cliff Beek from March 13 to 16 as he attended Satellite 2023 in Washington DC. He met with Spire’s Senior Director of Marketing — Advanced Program Iain Goodridge at their booth during the exhibition and caught up with industry friends at Hogan Lovells hosted 2023 SatelliteEve Reception.
Business meetings in Switzerland
Director of Business Development Evan Slattery traveled to Switzerland in March for business meetings. While visiting the diverse Switzerland Innovation Park West EPFL in Lausanne and the wider Etat de Vaud canton, he was impressed by Switzerland’s startup ecosystem, its conducive environment, and its support for innovation.
He also had a chance to check out the Space4Impact accelerator and was amazed to see products being developed to support the transition of cleaner energies via space technologies.
“Switzerland has a blossoming startup ecosystem that has been taking full advantage of Europe’s push towards a commercial-focused space industry, while also leveraging well-established ‘trust’ technologies. SpaceChain looks forward to building on our new relationships and exploring the innovative commercial opportunities within this beautiful country,” said Evan.

Let’s bring space data to the Metaverse
We believe that there is a clear synergy between space technologies and Web3 technologies. Space is at the frontier for many of humanity’s greatest innovations, and we must look to increase access to space technologies for everyone via a Web3 framework.
Check out this keynote presentation about “Bringing Space Data to the Metaverse” that was shared during the IPFS Camp 2022. It highlights the importance of leveraging space assets and data to complement newly adopted technologies such as blockchain, AI, and Web3.

TECHNICAL PROGRESS
SpaceChain handheld device development
The technical team has finished conducting the acceptance test of the handheld device. We are happy to share that the first phase of the test and development were completed successfully. The team is currently working on the next stage’s research and development.
SpaceChain node on ISS
The in-orbit test of operation and service of the ISS node is still in progress this month.
