CCO Nick Trudgen attends the 2021 IAF General Assembly
As a member of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), our CCO & UK Director Nick Trudgen represented SpaceChain at the 2021 IAF General Assembly, which was held during the 72nd International Astronautical Congress, 25–29 October 2021, in Dubai, UAE.
Around 4,000 attendees from industry and government converged in Dubai to shape the future of the space Industry. Some of the main topics at the Congress were private space stations, missions to mars, probes to asteroids, permanent human settlement on the Moon, and mega constellations.
Nick shares how it was an inspiring week-long event. He said: “ Being able to meet key industry players in person after a year without conferences was a real pleasure. It was also great to catch with partners and friends from around the world including Exobotics, NanoRacks, SoftConstruct, SPiN, Biteeu, Precious Payload, Moonscape, Neutron Star Systems and many others.”
One of the highlights of the event was seeing first-hand the ambitious and exciting space missions being developed in the UAE, such as the Mars Hope mission, shared Nick.

SpaceChain signs MoU with SPiN
While in Dubai, Nick also met with SPiN (SIMPLIFY SPACE MANUFACTURING) co-founder and CEO Ran Qedar (pictured below) to sign an MoU to bundle blockchain technologies with modular space system. This collaboration will integrate innovative tasking technology faster and provide satellite manufacturers more secure data management in modular satellite production.
Technical Progress
SpaceChain Software Development
- Completed the upload and deployment of the software on partner’s node. Next, we’ll be conducting test of the node’s process flow.
- Working on the package of the software to be installed on the partner’s node. Work is still in progress
SpaceChain Architecture
- Ground joint test of the new version’s Ethereum multi-signature wallet solution is completed.
- Working on the development of the Bitcoin multi-signature web wallet.
