Sending the Velas blockchain node to the ISS

In November, we will be launching Velas’ second blockchain node to space, this time to the International Space Station!

Collaborating with Spire to bring blockchain to space

We’re glad to share that we are working with Spire to help us accelerate the Decentralized Satellite Infrastructure project and scale our application coverage in space. We will be leveraging Spire’s constellation of over 100 satellites as well as its software capabilities to help us achieve our goal.

Join us at Apsara Startup Day: Singapore

Co-founder & Executive Chairman Zee Zheng has been invited to the Apsara Conference to speak on the panel: Web3, Blockchain and a Decentralized World. If you’re at the event, do come over and say Hi!

Launched in 2009 by Alibaba Cloud, the event will be held in Singapore on Nov 4, from 2pm to 4pm. The Apsara Conference is an annual event that brings together industry experts and thought leaders to discuss how technology, digital intelligence, and innovation can be applied to grow and improve business. Representing SpaceChain at EU Space Week

Earlier in October, Business Development Manager Evan Slattery headed to Prague, Czech Republic, to attend EU Space Week. The four-day event is the place for Europe’s space community to gather, network and learn more about current and future trends of the EU’s Space Programme. The event was jointly organised by the European Commission and the EU Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) in collaboration with the Czech Presidency of the Council and the City of Prague.

Evan was invited to be part of the panel “Space and metavere in action: examples from innovative start-ups” where he shared his insights about the integration of space and blockchain, and how blockchain nodes in space relates to the metaverse. Other speakers on the panel included Johann Heller from Deeeper Technology, Dario Vulanko from E20Green and Albert David Lewandowski from Magellanic Space.

Meeting up with partners for greater collaboration

CEO Cliff Beek caught up with our partner Nanoracks at their office and had a fruitful lunch with Nanoracks CEO Amela Wilson and Jacob Scoccimerra.

Building the digital bridge between Europe and Asia

CCO Nick Trudgen was at the Digital Bridge Forum 2022 in Kazakhstan where he was part of a panel speaking about space technologies. The forum was held at the Astana IEC “Expo” and aims to build a new digital bridge between Europe and Asia, opening new horizons and opportunities for collaboration and exchange of ideas.

TECHNICAL PROGRESS

SpaceChain handheld device development

The tech team worked on the product definition of the handheld device, focusing on the refinement and confirmation of its product form, its use cases, and the product’s functions.

They also continued working on the hardware design of the motherboard together with the security chip data interface and encryption protection.

BTC multisignature wallet test in space

The team also complete the joint test of the BTC multisignature wallet in space successfully for Biteeu. The test verifies the whole process from server deployment, initialization, user registration, wallet generation to transaction signature.
