BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

A breakthrough in space and satellite infrastructure integration

SpaceChain has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by successfully integrating distributed infrastructure with space and satellite systems. Collaborating with Addvalue Innovation and Alba Orbital under the Eureka Eurostars program, SpaceChain demonstrated real-time cross-company collaboration. This achievement allows users to order space services directly from Alba Orbital through the SpaceChain server and the Inter-Satellite Data Relay System (IDRS) on a low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite by Addvalue.

Earlier in May, Addvalue’s CTO Francis Low and VP Eyal Trachtman visited the SpaceChain UK office in London and met with Director of Technology Ziheng Xiang to discuss the SpaceChain payload and Addvalue’s IDRS.

This accomplishment represents a significant stride towards realizing SpaceChain’s Decentralized Satellite Infrastructure (DSI) vision, set to become operational by 2025. Francis Low, Addvalue’s CTO, lauded the collaborative effort, setting a new standard for cross-industry partnerships. The SpaceChain DSI aims to be the world’s first open, multi-vendor, multi-purpose satellite network, offering compelling advantages for business innovation in space.

Ziheng Xiang, SpaceChain’s Director of Technology, emphasized that the DSI infrastructure supports a heterogeneous satellite constellation, providing secure and cost-effective solutions for various space applications.
