The Em Dash Is Not a Sign of AI
Stop being overly reactive and silly!
The anti-AI witch hunt keeps getting more INSANE!
Look, I get it. Artificial intelligence is coming on the scene so fast that most of us aren’t ready. The world is changing before our eyes — faster than we’ve ever seen before. And people (including creatives) are losing jobs, contracts, and opportunities because of it.
I get it.
But, folks, the anti-AI craziness isn’t helping.
You can’t stop a freight train by sticking your foot out in front of it. That’s what a lot of online writers and pontificators are trying to do.
Good luck with that.
And you’re not going to stop it by trying to smear, cancel, attack, libel, or slander every writer or creative who dares to pull up ChatGPT.
This article, however, isn’t about the overall pushback against AI — pushback that is ultimately futile. It’s about one of the most ridiculous examples of the anti-AI craziness. And that is…
Many voices online insist that the em dash is a sign of AI.
I’ve already used em dashes in this article, and I can assure you that this article is 100% written by a human being — ME! (See what I did there?)
