Is it wrong for someone to generate AI art and try to profit from it? If so, why? And says who?

How about writers using AI to assist with their writing? When does help and assistance turn into doing most of the writing? Where is that line? And who draws it? or says where it should be drawn?

What if an indie novelist decides to use AI art for their book cover rather than working with a paid, professional illustrator or artist? Is that wrong? And, if so, says who?

I realize professional illustrators and artists might say it’s wrong for authors to try to save money by going with AI art. Indeed, there are some online writing-and-artist communities that have banned AI art (and just about any discussion of it), but…

Let’s step back and ponder this, shall we?

Professional human artists will say that AI art takes money away from them. Art is hard work and they’ve spent years developing and honing their craft. They deserve to get paid for their work.

And I agree.

But there are other considerations too.
