Franchise operator to run local business, support for cash payment

What’s the latest in bloXmoveNG?

bloXmove Nigeria is now in the latest phase for beta testing our apps for the Nigerian market.

Jointly with our franchise partners in Jos, a new chapter of growth and collaboration unfolds. This exciting development holds significant implications for our community, our business, and you — our valued stakeholders. Let’s explore the opportunities and benefits that this milestone brings, and how we can work together to drive success and positive impact.

The franchise takers will operate bloXmoveNG as an independent ride-hailing business, building upon the foundation we’ve established. They will pay a fee to utilize the existing platform and are free to add their own markup. Additionally, they can enhance the open-source technology with their own technical expertise, introducing new features and functionalities to further expand the platform.

  • Franchise extend the market reach of bloXmove as they manage and know the local markets. While the franchise takers works mostly with fiat or cash payments (“shadow cash”), under the hood every transaction will consume BLXM. This ensures the token utility remains the same while market friction is reduced.
  • Everything is in place to make the ride hailing business run smoothly with available drivers onboarded on the platform by our Franchise takers once they launch.

Cash Payment is key for Nigeria

A cash payment option has been introduced on the platform: This integration includes incorporating a cash payment feature for the bloxmove Nigeria market. This implementation is important to the Nigerian market because Nigeria as a whole is a heavily cash driven market. Hence, we acknowledged the need for a cash payment option for both the riders and drivers alike on the platform.

Combining the best of the two worlds our technical solution ensures that platform and business owner will still receive their share on-chain and in real-time.

How are payments made?

Mr. Ali opens the bloXmove app to book a ride from Rayfield Holiday Resort to the Jos National Museum, intending to pay with cash. He selects an available ride and informs the driver of his cash payment preference, which the driver accepts. To initiate the journey, Mr. Ali clicks ‘Start Ride’ on the app, and the driver acknowledges the request with a starting fee of ₦2.00, which is non-refundable. The commission fees will be calculated for the trip duration. Upon reaching his destination, the driver clicks ‘End Trip’. After completing the trip, payment can be made in cash by Mr Ali.

The driver pays the commission fee via his account wallet. The commission fee is automatically deducted from the driver balance based on the total ride fee.

What’s next?

Final testing phase has completed and we’re now racing towards the final steps for a successful launch by our franchise takers, with transactions and rides set to soar!
