As a company creating cutting-edge solutions for the future of power and mobility, it is important that these solutions truly reflect the realities of the world around us. bloXmove firmly believes that technology should be an inclusive environment where no section of society is left behind. In the spirit of inclusivity, the bloXmove leadership has taken it upon itself to sensitize more women and get them interested in technology, crypto, and mobility. The team has been hosting live dialogue sessions over the past few months engaging, educating, and instigating the interest of women in blockchain and what it can do for us on this planet.

Why We Need More Women In Tech

Technology is an all-encompassing area of human endeavour that affects absolutely everybody, for good or for worse. Women for the most part are left playing catch up in emerging technology sectors that end up solidifying without taking their needs into proper consideration. Women as active participants in tech are desperately needed for the following reasons;

Diversity Equals Opportunity

By having the active participation of women in the tech ecosystem, we are bringing more diversity that ends up shaping the industry. Women voices as team leaders, tech stack experts, and investors bring a balance that helps companies create solutions that do not exclude their unique perspectives and needs. Women think differently and this gives tech teams the advantage of solving problems from a wider angle that allows them to better optimise when women are included. More women in tech corridors and offices mean more opportunities for companies and more importantly, it means better solutions that don’t ignore such a major part of the human population.

Inspiring Future Talent

There is no greater motivator for a young mind than seeing someone they share common ground with doing great things. One of the reasons for our #WomenInTech Dialogue Sessions is, to create role models that young girls around the world aspire to follow in this new age of technology. Having strong and successful role models inspires young minds to pursue their interests in the field of technology which in turn creates a bigger and more diverse talent pool. By helping women understand and appreciate blockchain, bloXmove hopes that this will lead to a chain reaction that one day produces future women tech leaders and thinkers.

The Dialogue So Far

Our Tech Dialogue sessions are interactive and designed to evoke conversation between the participants. We started 4 sessions ago with the rudiments that introduce people with limited understanding to DLTs and what they do. The goal is to connect blockchain enthusiasts and interested women and create visibility for them.

The last session (our fourth episode) hosted by Sophia, bloXmove CEO, Harry, our CTO, and Charlotte, our token sales and marketing expert, introduced the audience to the buzzwords in crypto through a quizz challenge. The group discussed the thesis:

‘in future, cryptocurrencies are the new money in our everyday life’

and showed a positive tendency where the pros dominate the cons of regulation, transaction fees, energy, and the digital aversion in financial topics. The participants learned about the utility of the bloXmove token #BLXM and the hosts closed the session with a how-to-buy guide for newbies in the crypto space. The token launch will take place end of the month in September where private persons can participate and contribute to the #DeMo movement that bloXmove is leading.

In the past few months since the initiation of these dialogue sessions, the team has been greatly encouraged by the feedback it’s getting from women all over the world. Blockchain will be one of the cornerstone technologies for the 21st century and beyond, and women are determined not to be left behind. We are extending an open invitation to all interested women (and gentlemen) that want to participate in future sessions. Our next edition is planned for October — the date will be announced very soon. You can also watch previous sessions on our YouTube channel.

We are open to hearing from you on how we can make these events better or what pressing topics you feel we should be tackling in the future. If you know great #womenintech that should be on our virtual stage, please recommend them to us.

See you all in the next one.
