So, we all have to stay at home and everybody is on Netflix, but is that really it?

“Well, I also have Amazon Prime and… and Fortnite!”

Adorable.

I research entertainment tools for a living. If you do too, stop reading right now. You already know everything. If not, go on reading and find something you might have overlooked. I did this to help you maximize your enjoyment time rather than

Let me tell you, there is a lot of (free) Entertainment out there that we usually don’t even know about. It’s like toilet paper. You don’t care about it unless you are scared that you’re going to run out of it.

Free Trials Are your Best Friend

There are thousands of free trials out there you maybe didn’t know about.

Do you think you already have an account for every streaming service under the sun?

You don’t, trust me.

The good news is: there is a high chance you overlooked some services.

The better news is: all of them have free trials, so you don’t have to pay for your entertainment in quarantine.

For example:

  • Disney Plus (7 day free trial)
  • Apple TV+ (7 day free trial)
  • Showtime (30 day free trial)
  • CBS All Access (7 day free trial)
  • DC Universe Now (7 day free trial)
  • and many, many more in the link below!

There are 26 streaming services that I collected and you can bookmark the list here. Just click here to find them.

Added together, the list above has 357 days of free trials, giving you plenty of opportunity to even use more than one of them at the same time and still go through quarantine without spending a dime.

Choose wisely. If you don’t already have all of them, don’t get your free trials all at once. This way you won’t have an entertainment overload in the beginning and can focus on exploring the service before the trial ends. If you time everything right, you can go on like this for a year.

Forgetting Means Paying — I’ll Remind You

The problem with trials has always been that you either forget about them or start putting a thousand reminders everywhere so you don’t get charged. This sucks, nobody wants that. I don’t even know how many subscriptions I paid for because I forgot. It’s shameful, but it doesn’t have to happen.

Use this to get automatic reminders via email and calendar

We created it for exactly that purpose — so you and none of your friends forget to cancel anything that you have going on and find cool tools that you can start using for free!

Pro Tip:

Want to stay with Netflix? Then don’t let Netflix limit you!

So you’ve read through my list and noticed that you already have every streaming service in existence, so you start panicking.

“What will I watch in the next three months?! I already watched everything!!!!”

You didn’t watch everything, trust me. Algorithms know you too well and won’t show you things that are not similar to what you usually watch. However, this is not a usual situation! You need entertainment… A lot of it!

Unlock Hidden Categories

There are HUNDREDS of hidden categories in Netflix that you usually can’t reach. Why? They are reserved for the most seasoned entertainment veterans or the most dire emergencies, but I got your back.

Log in to Netflix in your browser and then go and open the holy bible of hidden Netflix categories. Just click on a category and the link will bring you to it.

This is part of a series to make your quarantine time more enjoyable!

If you like it, share the love with people you don’t want to end up in entertainment withdrawal.
