Where am I going?

My view from here is not good

Sometimes it seems like

Things are slipping away

Like sand being pulled from the beach

That endless reach

Life wanting more and more from me.

How much do I have left to give?

Friends evaporate

Into death’s greedy claw.

I look back at the times we shared

And linger over fading memories.

What’s up around the corner?

A dead end

With my name on it?

Still, I keep walking

Facing the uneven terrain

Knowing doors are quickly

Slamming in my face,

Windows, shutting down,

Maybe I’m not supposed to be around.

We’ll see.

The above was an experiment in trying to write a poem in less than five minutes. I also attempted to write it on my phone instead of my usual computer. It was an interesting challenge.

My personality is rather buoyant most of the time, still, I think we all have those cobalt moments when we are not certain about the future.

I challenge you all to try and write something compelling in a short amount of time. I look forward to reading your work.
