An elevator pitch is a brief (think 30 seconds!) way of introducing yourself, getting across a key point or two, and making a connection with someone. It’s called an elevator pitch because it takes roughly the amount of time you’d spend riding an elevator with someone.

. . . unless, you’re stuck in an elevator. Not necessarily on floor seven and a half.

But stuck, nonetheless. You might be the chosen one to pick up Starmucks coffee for the over-worked, underpaid staff. You might be a rock star. You might be totally deluded.

“Power will return in five minutes. Thank you for your patience,” a reassuring voice emits from the speakers.

So, there you are, only one other passenger. And he seems so familiar.
