Whispers of Melancholy

A Poem of Loneliness

There you are, smiling …

Your eyes glisten with your smile
sparkling with every breath

A flawless figure, calm,
unshaken by the world outside the window.

What did you say?

I love your voice, deep and calm.
Each syllable reveals a master tone

You touch me! Baring my soul.

A warm, magnetic touch. Drawing me in,
mesmerizing beyond temptation.

Here I am.

Staggering, searching for your whispered words.
We keep repeating this silent dance.

Your haunting presence
when I’m left alone.

Where do you go?

You are gone with the dawning morn.

I unconsciously remember everything -
except to breathe whenever we are together,

Lingering only in memory. Yet, you remain…

Your eyes.
Your voice.
Your touch.
