In hot weather, would you choose to play games with the air conditioning on at home? Or do you volunteer on the street? Today, I chose to do the voluntary work of selling flags with children, and I really want to share this experience with everyone.

In the process of selling flags, I truly feel the human touch of the society. We are in a corner of the bridge, with friendly smiles and polite words, preparing to do a good job of selling flags. In observation, some families of all sizes came to buy flags. I asked the children to stick them on each family member and thank them for their willing donations; Some are parents in law who eagerly buy flags and appreciate the efforts made by the children. When children receive praise from others, they feel affirmed and work even harder to invite others to buy flags.

At the same time, some are more proactive in buying flags from us and say “cheer!”! The weather is very hot, work hard to sunbathe! This shows the love and concern of people towards others. Some people also refuse to buy flags, and I encourage the children to learn to accept different attitudes from others. They may not have brought coins or were unable to buy flags in a hurry, so we learn to be tolerant of others.

In addition, the person who buys the flag is not only willing to use their time to stop, but also very generous in donating money. During the process, many people were willing to buy flags and paid a lot of money, such as $5, $10, $20, etc. Seeing their willingness to donate, I am truly grateful to them.

Another profound thing is a woman who didn’t have any coins, but stopped to ask if there were any other ways to buy a flag. We gave the organization a fast method for turning numbers, and she immediately donated money. Seeing her actions, I was very grateful. In addition, there was a man who didn’t have any coins on his body and said he would buy a flag again soon. He really came to buy it soon and admired his kindness. Finally, we sold all the flags in just over an hour, and both the children and I were very happy to complete this voluntary task.

After returning home, when I asked the child about their experience and feelings about doing voluntary work of selling flags today, he said he was very happy to have completed this significant thing. He was able to broaden his horizons and help those in need with actions. During the process, he felt very hardworking, and it was not easy to ask others to buy flags. He was very happy to receive their appreciation.

And I have benefited a lot from this flag sale. Although the weather is very hot, seeing the kindness and encouragement of the society is very meaningful. This experience hopes to not only increase parent-child relationships, but also learn to care for the needs of the community.
