Wherever I went in this wide, beautiful world,

I was rejected!

Denied!

Unwanted.

You go to Montreal?

You gotta speak French. No one would speak with me unless I spoke French.

So I learned French. And got along great with everyone.

It was like that in a number of other places in the world.

I got rejected.

And then I adapted.

And got along great with everyone there.

Rejection.

No.

Unwanted.

Not wanted.

It followed me everywhere.

You know who else followed me everywhere?

Me.

When I arrived in Belfast, in 2003, I was terrified.
