May was a busy but successful month for Bluecode. Take a minute to find out what we have been working on.
We participated in a panel discussion at the EHI Card Congress
On the 7th of May, our CEO was part of a panel discussion at the EHI Card Congress to discuss the diversity in payment transactions and its complexity.
We won the ECB Hackathon in Frankfurt
Ahead of strong competition such as from smartphone bank N26 and payment service provider Worldpay, we won the “Instant Payment Hackathon” of the European Central Bank (ECB).
The goal was to develop a mobile payment solution within 24 hours, in which payments are received in the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) without the delay of a bank business day on the recipient’s account.
Bluecode partners with Nayax
From now on Bluecode users can pay at unattended vending machines integrated with Nayax cashless payment devices. Now when at a Nayax card reader, a consumer can select the Bluecode payment option, scan a QR code with a Bluecode enabled app, and complete the transaction.

HRS integrated Bluecode into its employee app
In May, the brand new HRS HQ canteen in Cologne was opened. Since then, HRS employees have been able to pay with their employee app thanks to the implemented Bluecode integration. This makes life much easier and more rewarding for over 600 employees.
We participated in the OTP Startup Program
Our Senior Product & Business Development Manager, Gabor Zsirka, represented Bluecode at the OTP Startup Program Demo Day in Budapest and received one of the special prizes for our mobile payment solution. We are very proud of this cooperation and thankful for all the support we received from the OTP Bank during the program.
